Finding out about
your child's day

All children at Cressington Manor will have a 'My Learning Journey'. You have access to your child's 'My Learning Journey' booklet at all times and may request a copy at reception.  Your child's 'My Learning Journey' will be produced by your child's key person and will celebrate all of your child's experiences at nursery from; their friends, activities they have participated in, to their development. Over time you will see that your child's 'My Learning Journey' will tell a story about your child's time at nursery and in turn it helps us to understand and support your child's individual needs. Your child's 'My Learning Journey' is important as it one of many tools that allows your child's key person to plan with you the next steps of your child's learning and development and keeps you up to date with your child's progress. Newsletters are also distributed and parent's evening arranged to ensure that you keep up to date with your child's development, nursery news and all the exciting events that are held at the nursery throughout the year.

Your Child's
Key Person

At Cressington Manor we have adopted the government approved key person system.  As we recognise every child's individuality, efforts and achievements and believe that relationships between adults and children are crucial for the child's happiness and security.   The key person system enables us to assign an individual practitioner or key person to your child and your family to support with all of their needs and development whilst attending Cressington Manor. Your child’s key person will build trusting and respectful relationships with your child to allow them to grow in confidence and thrive in their surroundings.   Your key person will have daily contact with your child, offering focused activities to support them in their individual development. They will observe your child and monitor their engagement and interest during small group activities as well as during free play times. Your key person is responsible for planning these activities and recording their observations. We will discuss with you what fun your child has had during their day, their progress and give you ideas on how to help them at home as well.
