Our Extra Activities
Our extensive range of additional activities builds on children’s experiences and encourages high levels of physical activity and well being. From yoga to multi sports and dance, from phonics sessions to samba drumming, there are lots of opportunities for children to develop their interests, skills and knowledge through a range of physical activity, dance and music sessions.
Mitchy Titch Yoga
Mitchy Titch Yoya offers a wonderfully calming and relaxing session for our youngest babies, with a core focus on building strength, co-ordination and positional awareness through gentle movements. Combine this with calming music and musical instruments, our babies leave with a high sense of well being and just float through the rest of their day!
For our Toddlers and Pre School children, sessions centre around music, dance and physical activity sessions. From Diddi Dance sessions with Suzy where the children enjoy and join in with fun and engaging dance and music sessions with different themes – Bollywood, Jive and Strictly spring to mind. There are a good mix of activities to keep all entertained.
Beat Life Drumming
We also have weekly music sessions centred around Afro-Brazilian and Cuban drumming delivered by Beat Life Drumming– there is often squeals of delight and much movement to the sound of the beat! This activity is just perfect for the children’s listening and attention skills and for developing their understanding of rhythm, rhyme and syllables – all very important skills to support children’s pre reading phonological awareness and their transition to school!
To support and embed our curriculum approach and to further prepare the children for those all essential pre reading skills, FunZo's Phonics delivers weekly early phonic sessions and early reading activities for our pre school children. With lots of hands-on learning and a fun approach through games and small group work, each session is perfectly tailored to the group’s individual needs and helps children with their communication skills which is fundamental to early learning and confidence.
