The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS)
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which establishes national standards for the care, learning, and development of babies and children up to the age of five. The EYFS emphasizes learning through play, as research shows that young children’s potential for learning is maximized when they are fully engaged in high-quality play experiences. As the renowned child psychologist Jean Piaget famously stated, "Play is the work of children." The EYFS framework enables our team to plan and deliver a diverse array of stimulating activities—ranging from baking and messy play to role play and dance. Each activity is specifically tailored to meet a child’s individual needs, interests, and preferences. This approach ensures that key areas of learning and development are addressed in exciting and innovative ways while fostering collaboration with parents to explore children’s interests and suggest strategies for enhancing their learning and development at home. We also support children’s learning through play by creating thoughtfully planned and well-resourced learning environments, both indoors and outdoors. Clear routines provide children with a sense of belonging and structure throughout their day. Our dedicated nursery practitioners closely observe each child’s development and plan for their next steps in learning, ensuring that they progress at their own pace and are well-prepared for future stages in their education, including their learning, communication and language skills, physical development, and social and emotional growth.
