For babies still requiring milk feeds: they will receive his or her milk feeds according to your schedule at home.

We ask that formula milk powder is NOT brought into nursery in ready mixed bottles. Please bring along one sterilised empty bottle and a sealed container of formula milk powder for all of your child's session. Bottles and formula milk powder will remain at the nursery and a member of staff will freshly prepare the bottles daily.

Breast milk should be clearly labelled, and will be stored within a separate, designated area of the fridge and will be handled in the correct manner.

In all our rooms, we have facilities for the children to enjoy a daytime nap. Babies have their own cots and blankets where they quickly feel at home, and you can bring in any toys or soothers to help them settle.

As the children get older, and sleep times become more structured, we have cosy beds with individual blankets, which the children enjoy lying down on to rest. Even the trickiest of sleepers quickly learns how to switch off from any noise or distraction whilst they relax and sleep in comfort.

There are no uniforms required at Cressington Manor. We suggest that you dress your child in labelled, comfortable clothes, such as: jogging pants, t-shirt and sweatshirt in colder months, and shorts and t-shirt in the summer. Please be aware that we encourage all our children to learn through first hand exploration, indoors and outdoors.... and messy play is an important part of your child's learning and development.

We also request that a full change of labelled clothes is provided to the nursery in case of any mishaps.

If your child becomes unwell whilst attending nursery, the Nursery Manager would review the symptoms and will contact you to discuss the best cause of action. The vast majority of staff are trained and qualified in Paediatric First Aid, which is renewed when required. In line with changes to government legislation, from the 1st September 2016 all practitioners will be Paediatric First Aid trained.  Children should not attend the nursery when they have a condition or illness that can be deemed to be infectious and could bring harm to others. Please see our Policies and Procedures for further information.

We believe that outdoor play allows children to discover and explore, to use their imaginations and begin to understand the world around them. We encourage as much outdoor play as possible and have a large outdoor space that allows climbing, crouching, rolling and building – all within a risk-assessed environment. Our garden is an open air space specially designed for fun and learning, to enhance your child's physical development. It is an outdoor classroom that is utilised in all weather conditions...as we love to get our wellingtons on and splash in the puddles!

Our focus is on building a curriculum based on each child’s individual interests, their experiences with one another, and the world in which they live. We encourage children to engage in meaningful and exciting activities, so they discover the world on their own terms and in their own way. Children will achieve confidence, be articulate at self-expression, and most importantly find the joy in learning.
